Using Video Submission Software In An Effective Manner

Supporting content marketing through video submission software can help to make the already-conscientious marketer even more successful when it comes to getting his or her video content out to as many of the Internet’s video directories as possible. Think of this software as being similar to software that helps to make article marketing much easier than it used to be. In fact, literally hundreds of directories can be accessed quite quickly with it.

The basic theory that underlies this sort of software is actually fairly easy to understand; after the video is completed, software will take it and begin creating specific accounts at each video submission directory. Once that’s been completed, sites such as YouTube and others will then take the video that’s been submitted by the software and post it. It could take a person days to do what the software does in short order, in other words.

Good video submission software programs handle the task of re-creating descriptions and titles (sometimes known as “spinning”) so that the video then becomes a unique product once it’s been submitted to each directory. As well, submission software can also create snapshot or very in-depth reports in Excel or PDF formats so that the video marketer can assess which directories have accepted the video and which haven’t.

In all, it’s hard to see a downside to something that has been designed to eliminate literally hundreds of man-hours from the task of submitting a video to a directory, when the aim should always be on producing a quality video and not on wasting time trying to get it submitted. Using video submission software can help reduce or completely eliminate the problem quickly, it must be said.

It’s helpful if one looks at submission software as being exactly like a tool that’s particularly valued and effective. As far as the content marketing event (taking useful content that may contain information about something that the marketer wishes to sell, for example) such video software can come in quite handy. It allows one to take the power of the Internet to do activities such as submitting a video quite easily, which is a real selling point when it, honestly.

Currently, the number of top quality video directories stands at about 40 or so. Additionally, another hundred video directories occupy the second tier, and it would take literally days for a person to take a single video and submit it to every directory that accepts video content from its members. The chances are also fairly high that a number of rejections would result because the directories might look at the video as what’s called duplicate content.

Once the software has been installed on a computer and a video created and entered into the software, it takes over from there. Titles, descriptions and a few other pieces of information are changed, and then the video submission software does its magic. The bottom line is that such software platforms can really make content marketing go much easier for any affiliate marketer (or anybody who wishes to promulgate a video widely) then it really usually is.

To get the latest on video submission software, you need to know where to search. Many websites today can tell you the best type of software to use and how it made them to the top. Http://TrafficGeyserSEO.com

Flip Mino

Image by Island Capture (aka Silverph or psilver)
I finally got the Flip Mino!

After a few hours of testing, I can confidently say that this gadget rocks! Both hardware and software are well made and I have not encountered any problems recording and sending video to someone online.

Video and sound are great. Of course it does not compete with more expensive HD video cameras but for the price and size, this is worth having.

A very simple, no frills, very portable, it goes wherever I go, video camera. I originally got this so that I can record short videos to send to my son but it looks like I will be using this for other things as well.

PS, I got that flimsy tripod from Scott Sherman of "The Digital Photography Show Podcast" . Turns out to be handy for the Flip Mino!

Digital Video Editing Software

Have you ever thought it would be nice if you could make your photo look a bit more pleasant, or have you ever wanted to make your recorded video to be shorter in length? Digital video software products will provide you with as many options as you would have ever imagined editing your recorded video or a captured photo.

Digital video software provide you with a wide array of options, assisting you in editing the videos and photos you have. Digital video editing has come to a very high level. Therefore users now have the ability of changing their backgrounds and colors the way they desire. Unwanted parts in a picture can be erased with a simple click and colors can be made lighter or brighter, suiting all your needs.

Different kinds of digital video software products offer various features to their customers. If you have recorded a birthday party using a digital video camcorder, then all you have to do is plug the camcorder into a computer that has the digital video software. Inserting music, cutting off unwanted video clips and minimizing the length of the whole video can all be done by using digital video software. In addition to all this, digital video software products also enable the conversion of video from one format to another. This of course is done with the encoding technology from converter software.

Purchasing a branded digital video software product can be really easy with the number of products that are already in the market. But before purchasing one, it is important to know what your requirements are. Do you simply want to edit videos for home use or do you want to do it in a more professional way? Companies that carry out editing procedures for films, etc will need digital video software designed specifically for that purpose. Having an idea about what you really want can be beneficial before purchasing any type of digital video software.

The increased demand for branded video editing software products has paved the way for giants in the digital market to release products of high quality and competitive prices. The World Wide Web is also an awesome place to get enough of information regarding quality digital video software products.

Learning Color Blindness by Example 1
video software
People often ask me "what does it look like to you" when I tell them I’m color blind. (I believe the correct terminology is that I have "color-inhibited vision", but I prefer good old color blind.) It’s hard to effectively explain that I merely can’t distinguish certain colors from each other under certain lighting situations and that the conditions are pretty complex.

"What color is that?" is a common follow-up question.

Using software called Color Oracle I am able to show examples of what it looks like for the color blind. Since I don’t always have the software available I have made a few demonstrations of what it looks like to me so I can refer to them when I’m out and about.

The above images are nearly indistinguishable to me.

Since the condition is a problem of distinguishing between different colors, hue rotation can be used to solve the problem of indistinction, but nothing can be done to resolve the imperception of the colors which I am unable to perceive. If you are not color blind you’ll simply never know what we really see.

On the topic of computer software, what I am ultimately looking for is something that will let me rotate hues at the video driver level, affecting the entire output to the displays simultaneously. Only then will I be able to kick your ass in Day of Defeat Source without mowing down my comrades in the process.

Video Editing Software – What is the BEST?

I often have people ask me, “What’s the best video editing software to use?”

My answer is always, “It depends.”

What are you going to edit? How much experience do you have? How complicated do you want to get?

What is “best” for one person won’t necessarily be best for the next person.

Personally, I use Final Cut Express. I love it. FCE will do almost everything it’s big brother, Final Cut Studio will do. The biggest difference between the two is in the number of video file formats it works with. Final Cut Studio works with a larger number of professional grade formats.

I still shoot on mini dv, which is accepted in Final Cut Express, so I saved myself a bundle and bought FCE. ($ 1,200 vs. $ 300)

Validation for my luv of FCE came when I read Videomaker Magazine’s annual Best Products of the Year awards. Videomaker gave Final Cut Express the “Best Video Editing Software” title.

According to Videomaker, FCE is a fantastic, low-cost stepping stone into professional-grade editing. The newest version, FCE 4.0 even accepts AVCHD, the new high-definition format.

VideoMaker’s annual “Best” awards have several more categories for video editing software. In a category they call, “Best Introductory Editing Software,” Videomaker declared a tie between Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 12 ($ 129) and Corel Video Studio Pro X2, ($ 99). According to Videomaker, both programs are simple enough for beginners but powerful enough to do complex tasks. (FCE would probably drive newbies just as nuts as Final Cut Pro.)

Pinnacle Studio actually has three levels of complexity and price. Pinnacle Studio is the least expensive at $ 49, Studio Plus comes in at $ 99 and Ultimate v. 12 costs $ 129. All three keep simplicity at the forefront by configuring tasks as templates rather than making the editor select all variables involved. This feature is definitely what a beginner wants.

Corel Video Studio comes in two levels of complexity and price. Pro X2 costs $ 99 and the basic version runs $ 70. The basic version limits you to two video tracks and two video overlay tracks while the pro version gives you seven.

When considering an entire suite of video editing software, VideoMaker Magazine gave the top nod to Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium at $ 1,699. NOT CHEAP. But you get all this: Illustrator, Photoshop Extended, Flash Professional, After Effects, Premiere Pro (the actual video editing software), Encore, Sound Booth, Device Control, Bridge and Dynamic Link. If you are really serious about achieving professional level video editing, this would be a great package. If you don’t need quite that much capability, you can get Premiere Pro by itself for $ 799. Adobe has done a good job of making Premiere much more user-friendly over the years and they also now have a version for Mac.

Adobe also won a Most Innovative Software award for Visual Communicator 3, made especially for the video blogger. Adobe touts it as streaming video made simple. The software helps you with the entire production process, not just post production. It includes a teleprompter as well as features that let you upload your to the web. Adobe purchased this software from a company called Serious Magic.

The final software award, Best Visual Effects Software, was given to proDAD Adorage. If you want to add lots of fancy transitions, this software includes transition effects such as Particles and Lights, Universal Tricks, Diamond Composites, Power FX Pearls, Eyecatcher FX and Particles and Objects. All nine volumes together sell for $ 499. You can get individual packages starting at $ 73. Keep in mind this software is not full-fledged video editing software, but rather a package to use in conjunction with standard video editing software.

So if you have been looking to buy some video editing software, consider your needs and budget. Then you can decide what is best for you.

Waterfalls at Midnight
video software
I had done a little research about the southern part of Iceland before my trip, but I left enough gaps to be surprised.

On this particular night, it was about 65 degrees (18 C), so it was just a tad perfect. The air was wet with moisture from an evening rainstorm, and it was held aloft by the strange weather patterns. When I first saw this waterfall, it was around midnight. By the time I got into this position, it was about 1 AM or so.

Once again, I had not seen another human for hours. It was so eerie walking around these amazing places alone. Typically, with something so grandiose, you sort of expect a bunch of tourists to be lurking about. So, alone, it all feels a bit post-apocalyptic. But thanks to a ton of video games, I’m well versed with how to survive in these situations.

Converting VHS & Beta Video Tapes to DVD For Best Quality.

I have found that most software companies like to promote how easy it is to transfer your VHS tapes to DVD when using their software. Although their products do make this process very easy, I have found that the final video on DVD is worse then the original VHS tape. After trying several common VHS to DVD software products I became frustrated that I could not achieve the original video quality of the original VHS tape. DVD technology surpasses VHS tapes by a long shot and in my mind there is no reason why there should be any degeneration of video quality after the transfer. After much trial and error and hundreds of hours spent I have written this article. This article reviews three (3) popular software products and describes a method on how to convert your VHS tapes to DVD while achieving little to no degeneration in video quality on the final DVD.

Common Software Products Tested:

Three (3) software programs were tried:

1. Roxio VHS to DVD

2. Homestech 4.0 VHS to DVD

3. Pinnacle Systems – Dazzle DVD Recorder

The above software packages were the most popular and seemed to be very attractive to get the job done. They were available at local computer stores and were also the most popular software packages found within internet search engines. The above software packages use a small USB device that allows the VCR to be connected to the computer. The USB device converts the analog signal to digital before sending it into the computer. The final DVD produced by each of the three (3) products was less quality then the original VHS video. The software that came with each of the packages installed properly and was working fine. The Pinnacle Systems product did not come with a driver. Their website did not have any drivers. After several hours I could not get the Pinnacle product to work at all. The other 2 products were returned due to the video quality being noticeably lower then the original VHS tapes. It was determined that the digital signal produced by each of the small USB devices was a major cause of the final DVD being of poor quality. It was also determined that the software in each of the packages contributed to the final DVD to also have lower video quality then the VHS tapes.

Final VHS to DVD Process Used:

After trying and then returning each of the software products above, I spent many hours researching this task. I have managed to talk to some video experts and read hundreds of forum posts. The final process to convert VHS to DVD with little to no degeneration in video quality was:

1. Use the Canopus ADVC-300 Advanced Digital Video Converter to convert the VCR output to digital format. This unit needs a firewire connection on your PC.

2.Use a free software called “Win DV” to capture the digital video (DV) and create AVI files on your hard drive. Capturing digital video software only captures to AVI files. There isn’t software available that captures directly to MPEG files which is what you need for DVDs. Additional file converting is necessary.

3. Use “Canopus Procoder 3” to split the AVI files into M2V video and WAV audio files.

4. Use “TMPGEnc MPEG Editor” to combine the M2V video and the WAV files into MPEG files.

5. Use “TMPGEnc MPEG Editor” cut and remove portions of the MPEG files if needed.

6. Use “TMPGEnc MPEG Editor” to author and create the final DVD’s

The Canopus ADVC-300 is a unit design specifically for converting analog to digital signals from VCRs. It has several built-in filters designed to filter out common noise that is found on video tapes before it encodes the digital signal. Though trial and error I have tried all combinations of settings of these filters. These filters made no improvement in the final DVD quality. The 3D filter left a ghost trail behind objects as the camera panned. The 2D filter and the Y/C separation had no effect at all. My final DVD’s were created with all of the filters turned off. Although I didn’t use the filters, it is highly recommended that everyone try all combinations of these filters for each of their tapes. Every VCR recording has its own unique noise characteristic. One combination of filter settings does not work for all tapes so you need to experiment with these filters.

The output file settings on the Procoder were:

1.Quality/Speed: High Speed

2.Bitrate Type: Variable Rate (VBR)

3.Number of Passes: 2 Pass.

4.Video Bitrate: 4500 kb/s

5.Max. Bitrate: 7000 kb/s

6.Min Bitrate: 2000 kb/s

Increasing these numbers may make your final DVD non-standard compliant.

Why do many of the popular software programs degrade the quality of the original video? This requires an understanding each of the processes involved:

1. Convert the original signal from analog to digital.

2. Encode and create a file from the digital signal.

3. Convert file to MPEG file format.

4. Convert MPEG file to VOB files for use on final DVD.

Whenever there is an encoding or conversion process a “codec” is needed. A codec is a technical term that can be best described as being an interpreter between two different speaking languages. Most language interpreters have an accent. This accent is the interpreters’ own degeneration of the language they are interpeting to. Some interpreters have heavier accents then others. Very few interpreters have no accent. Since converting a VHS tape to a DVD involves more then one interpretation, or conversion, the opportunity for degeneration will always be present. The conversion process needs to be programmed by the software developer. The less the accent, or degeneration, the more time, knowledge, and skill are required on behalf of the programmer who is creating each of the codecs within the software programs. The three (3) software programs that were tested and returned cost around $ 50.00. The developers are not going to spend excess resources on a software program costing this little.

So how one to know which software is converts the best? You don’t. The only way is through lengthy, timely, and frustrating trial and error. The author of this article went though months of trial and error and reading forum posts from many experts. The purpose of this article is to give you a way to convert your VHS tapes to DVD with near perfect quality while sparing you the timely trial and error.

The Final Cost:

Although they cost around $ 50.00 dollars, the three (3) software packages tested earlier in this article have poor conversion and are not worth using if you are trying to achieve the best quality in converting your VHS tapes to DVD. I have purchased the ADVC-300 converter, Procoder, and TMPgenic software from eBay totaling about $ 550.00. After all VHS tapes were converted the ADVC-300 and software was sold on eBay and the net cost was about $ 120.00. Although the up-front cost of the equipment and software may be non-desirable, your final cost is well worth having the best quality of your old video tapes on DVD.

We had a great PhotoWalk in China! It was really so amazing… it was nice to meet so many people while having a great sunset on The Egg. I’ve been to this place many times, so I felt lucky to have good weather. Upcoming, I have a behind-the-scenes video of how this photo was made as well. I’ll try to get that up in the near future, but please feel free to remind me… I get overloaded sometimes!

Sharing music, New York style
video software
I took this shot at the 72nd Street IRT station, while waiting for an uptown train to take me back up to 96th Street.

For some reason, it got lost in my photo archives for a couple months, so I’m only now getting around to uploading it.

I didn’t really look closely when I took the picture (from the other side of the subway tracks), but the five-pronged earphone-attachment gizmo is something I’ve never seen before.

I assume the iPhone (or iPod or whatever) is buried in the purse of the woman sitting on the left … but would you really want your five closest friends to be listening to the same music that you do?

Whether you’re an amateur or professional photographer, it’s hard to walk around with a modern smartphone in your pocket, and not be tempted to use the built-in camera from time-to-time. Veteran photographers typically sneer at such behavior, and most will tell you that they can instantly recognize an iPhone photo, which they mentally reject as being unworthy of any serious attention.

After using many earlier models of smartphones over the past several years, I was inclined to agree; after all, I always (well, almost always) had a “real” camera in my pocket (or backpack or camera-bag), and it was always capable of taking a much better photographic image than the mediocre, grainy images shot with a camera-phone.

But still … there were a few occasions when I desperately wanted to capture some photo-worthy event taking place right in front of me, and inevitably it turned out to be the times when I did not have the “real” camera with me. Or I did have it, but it was buried somewhere in a bag, and I knew that the “event” would have disappeared by the time I found the “real" camera and turned it on. By contrast, the smart-phone was always in my pocket (along with my keys and my wallet, it’s one of the three things I consciously grab every time I walk out the door). And I often found that I could turn it on, point it at the photographic scene, and take the picture much faster than I could do the same thing with a “traditional” camera.

Meanwhile, smartphone cameras have gotten substantially better in the past few years, from a mechanical/hardware perspective; and the software “intelligence” controlling the camera has become amazingly sophisticated. It’s still not on the same level as a “professional” DSLR camera, but for a large majority of the “average” photographic situations we’re likely to encounter in the unplanned moments of our lives, it’s more and more likely to be “good enough.” The old adage of “the best camera is the one you have with you” is more and more relevant these days. For me, 90% of the success in taking a good photo is simply being in the right place at the right time, being aware that the “photo opportunity” is there, and having a camera — any camera — to take advantage of that opportunity. Only 10% of the time does it matter which camera I’m using, or what technical features I’ve managed to use.

And now, with the recent advent of the iPhone5s, there is one more improvement — which, as far as I can tell, simply does not exist in any of the “professional” cameras. You can take an unlimited number of “burst-mode” shots with the new iPhone, simply by keeping your finger on the shutter button; instead of being limited to just six (as a few of the DSLR cameras currently offer), you can take 10, 20, or even a hundred shots. And then — almost magically — the iPhone will show you which one or two of the large burst of photos was optimally sharp and clear. With a couple of clicks, you can then delete everything else, and retain only the very best one or two from the entire burst.

With that in mind, I’ve begun using my iPhone5s for more and more “everyday” photo situations out on the street. Since I’m typically photographing ordinary, mundane events, even the one or two “optimal” shots that the camera-phone retains might not be worth showing anyone else … so there is still a lot of pruning and editing to be done, and I’m lucky if 10% of those “optimal” shots are good enough to justify uploading to Flickr and sharing with the rest of the world. Still, it’s an enormous benefit to know that my editing work can begin with photos that are more-or-less “technically” adequate, and that I don’t have to waste even a second reviewing dozens of technically-mediocre shots that are fuzzy, or blurred.

Oh, yeah, one other minor benefit of the iPhone5s (and presumably most other current brands of smartphone): it automatically geotags every photo and video, without any special effort on the photographer’s part. Only one of my other big, fat cameras (the Sony Alpha SLT A65) has that feature, and I’ve noticed that almost none of the “new” mirrorless cameras have got a built-in GPS thingy that will perform the geotagging…

I’ve had my iPhone5s for a couple of months now, but I’ve only been using the “burst-mode” photography feature aggressively for the past couple of weeks. As a result, the initial batch of photos that I’m uploading are all taken in the greater-NYC area. But as time goes on, and as my normal travel routine takes me to other parts of the world, I hope to add more and more “everyday” scenes in cities that I might not have the opportunity to photograph in a “serious” way.

Stay tuned….

A seamless texture is an special image, where one side of a image exactly matches the opposite side, so that the edges blend into each other when repeated. Seamless textures are used for desktop wallpaper, webpage backgrounds, video games, Photoshop fills and in 3D rendering programs.

How did you make it?
This texture was made using software specially designed to aid in seamless texture creation. Some of the programs I’ve use are Photoshop, Illustrator, Filter Forge, Genetica, Image Synth, Alien Skin, Topaz Labs, Imagelys, and even a pen and paper.

I had a wonderful evening with Eden Brackstone, even though he uses a Canon. I can overlook these trifle matters, but I do not forget them lightly.

We were in Gibbston, New Zealand, about 20 minutes from Queenstown. After a wonderful dinner with his delightful family, I popped out onto his farm to shoot some HDR. He started recording video on his aforementioned Canon-thing, and put together the little dealio at the link below. Enjoy!

Here is the final photo that was taken just before I we started recording the video.

Brograve Mill HDR Version
video software
Recently (27th January 2008) we went for a walk around Horsey Mere on the Norfolk Broads. This is the derelict Brograve Mill (windpump).

I have been interested in producing HDR photos but my editing software (Elements 5) doesn’t have a automatic facility to do this. However, the current issue of Digital Camera Magazine (70) has a tutorial for producing black and white HDR images in Elements 5 & 6. I followed the instructions (without desaturating the image) and produced this first attempt. I will keep trying to improve my technique but in the meanwhile has anyone got and helpful tips they could give me?

Many thanks.

Here is the convention center in Beijing at Dusk. They call it the CNCC. I don’t know what that stands for, but I can guess what two of the C’s mean.

This is a strange thing I have noticed about Beijing. Many people speak in abbreviations. I had many people tell me of the CNCC like it was something I knew perfectly well. I would just end up nodding because when I would ask for what it stood for, they were confused.

"You should go to the CNCC!" they say.

"What’s that?" I ask.

"Oh, you know! It’s the CNCC!" they respond.
